New Computer and New IIS problems with Windows Vista

I am on a brand new VISTA computer now. I am doing ASP.NET development.
So I need to turn on IIS. When I do, I notice that the IIS feature is
not checked.



When I check it, it says that there is an error during the set-up
process.



But it seems to continue.

Then, at the end of its process, it give me another error



But it seemed that it worked because behind the error message, the items
appeared to be checked.

But it did not work. When I go back and look at the settings, I see that IIS
is not installed.



Any suggestions?

Ok, it's not the solution but somehow i never had problems with Apache so this might help.

my experience with iis on vista is limited, but have you tried un-installing it from windows components, then re-installing it? i'm pretty sure you will need the windows disk for this.

ugh, nevermind, that IS the install feature you're talking about. i thought you were modifying it somehow.

The problem does not exist on a vista business style OS computer.
