Your backup process

I need help. I have an assignment to complete that requires me to get info from a 'real life' business owner. I have hit up two people I know that do web hosting and design but they didn't get their answers back to me and now I have this flippin assignment due so I came her eto ask my forum-mates.

The assignment is to ask someone the following questions:

1. What type of business do you own (describe what you do)

2. Describe what is backed up as part of your business - generically, what type of data - customers, payroll, inventory, system data, blah blah etc.

3. What type of schedule do you backup your data on? (if you do incremental/differential backups on a regular basis, and full on a weekly/monthly/yearly basis etc. I actually have to diagram your answers. fun.)

4. What program/application is used as backup? What kind of / how much storage media is needed per backup? (How many disks/tape etc used in, say, a month) Is your backup media taken off-site (or away from main server) in case of an act of God, nature or man? lol

That's about it. He basically wanted us to get a real life example of someone who had data to backup, chart the process they use, determine how much media/money they roughly spend on it, and where they keep it (under the pillow, in a bank vault, etc.lol)

If anyone here who has their own business, or perhaps knows these answers from their place of employment, any help would be appreciated and I will love you forever.

Sign me,
Holding on to my 4.0 Jacquie
