IE 7 beta 2 help?

Just downloaded and installed IE7 beta 2, working well with some interesting thinking from the microsoft camp, but every time I open a new IE window, I have to re-login to proxy. (tried a registry edit from the IE7 site, but de nada)

Can I turn this login off somehow?

answer

IE7 also ended up inturrupting my media streaming experience by appearing to be offline when I was not, so the simplest answer (from the microsoft website, no less) was to roll back to IE6.

Doing that, and a bit of re-jiggling of toolbars, and I am now more satisfied with browsing than with IE7

Most of the features on IE7 can be found on Firefox. I'll still probably download IE7 because it is newer and looks cooler.

Tried to install IE7 on my Windows 2000, it did but keeps complaining about missing functions in my dll's.

I KNOW you gonna ask me why i don't have XP.
Answer: It sucks hard for ANY developer. I could give you a huge list why this is but, this topic is NOT the place for it.

So i use: Firefox, Opera, Konqueror and Safari.
I also have IE 5 on my Win 2k OS but thatone is locked to the bone thru registry hacks and delete files. That because i don't want all those scamware like Adobe and Yahoo Messenger sniffing around (these programs now crash often due to my Windows security policy)

oh, do elaborate .. i think ANY with nothing between that and 'developer' is too strong .. either that, or i am not a developer.

Ditto - I'm not a Windows developer but I've done my share of Java/Web/script programming in a Windows environment without too much hassle (although I hate the cmd window).

There are two versions of IE7, one for SP1 and one for SP2. Try downloading the one for SP1.

Hmmm.... I should remove ANY then but, i'm not allowed to

IE 7

1. Fixed CSS so that workarounds like *, /*/**/, >, etc. don't work anymore
2. Forgot to fix the CSS bugs that made people use the above mentioned hacks
3. Server: AddType text/x-component htc (latest IE 6 also)
4. XHTML still not supported
5. Try flash and click on it with your mouse (latest IE 6 also)
6. Open up a 24bit PNG with alpha channels
7. Look at the security options
8. Still no support for W3C standards that all other browsers already do

There are still good things though:

1. Can your great big so-called fire-thingy or musical Opera install spyware for you, automatically, without you even noticing?
2. Unwanted toolbars still possible (install adobe/yahoo software)
3. ActiveX
4. 30% of the world uses it in the end when they force the switch to Vista
5. Tabbing, like: Firefox, Opera, myIE, etc.

It's just a few things i noticed
