Hi all,
Been trying to install apache for some time now, 2.05 version. I hover over the apache monitor and it says "no services installed". I did put bogus information at the beginning as i was told to do so somewhere since id be working offline i think. When installing the following error messages pop up in a command prompt window.
<OS 10048> only one usage of each socket address <protocol/networkaddress/port> Is normally permitted. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
unable to open logs
After that the following error comes up in a command prompt window.
[error] <OS 2>The system cannot find the file specified. :No installed service named “apache2”.
it looks like you have another web server installed or at least another program trying to use port 80.
please tell us what o/s you are on. if you're on windows, then you might want to go to add/remove programs -> windows components and remove IIS if that is installed. then try to install apache again.
Thanks a bunch, the relief . IIS wasnt installed, but there were a bundle of programs running in the system tray like limewire, quicktime, i guess it was one of them because it works now. Thanks.
