snort on windows / winpcap v2

i want to get snot running on windows, but i think it needs winpcap version 2x. the only version on their website is 3x.

is anyone running snort on windows?

hmm.... it seems that their 3.0 version needs a patch.

has anyone setup snort on windows?

my HOME_NET var is setup like this:

var HOME_NET 192.168.1.0/24

and my router ip is 192.168.1.1

when i run snort with: snort -vde

i get this:

pcap_loop: read error: PacketReceivePacket failed
Snort exiting

i'm assuming that i should run the command, and see realtime packet info like i do in ethereal.
