booting from 2nd h.d.

i have a p4 1.7ghz and an intel mobo.

i can't get into the bios.

i have a new hard drive which i installed win2k server.

i need it to boot of the new hard drive.

i need to have access to both drives once it is booted up.

is there any way to do this without going in to the bios?

i have partition magic if that helps any.

hehehe been thier'

1st go back to the org config so u can get in the bios

make shure that you have boot other device is off ( some times when i do this and it finds 2 bootable hd it freaks )

take off quick boot and dont skip the memory test some times on crap mother boards if the boot is (ide1 slave) but its checks (ide0 master) and finds a boot itll load this one (stay away from compaqs' under p2)

put the hd on diff ide cables

dont use cable select on jumpers

make shure when your in the bios that ide speed is set to the slowest hd

if you still have probs have it boot to 1 device and check noithing else

iff all else fails put the other hd in a crap comp and use it as a kinda server

gl can

ps if u gimme the model number and manufac i can see if i can get updated bios for u or help u more
