build & compatibility

using a c++.net mfc project, after i build my project, it creates a .exe file. i send this file to another computer that does not have c++.net installed on it, and it says it is missing a dll.

how do i know what files have to go with the .exe file? do i have to create an installer to install those files into the user's computer too?

I could possibly help more if I knew what headers/libraries you are using?

=p .. errr .. does week 1 in sams teach yourself visual c++.net in 21 days give you enough ? hehe.. it's ok, i am just on little project tutorials so far.. i'm learning lots, but i'll save my questions that require some thinking of others to applications that i really want to write from scratch.

thanks !

ok, now i do want to know .. i'm just making very simple applications .. any headers/libraries would have automatically been used by starting the mfc project.

how do i find out what libraries i'm using?

You might not just happen to use the .NET framework? Wich has
a good change if you program in MFC. In that case the end-user
must have the .NET framework installed.

thanks, that is it exactly. i wonder if there is a way to detect and install the .net framework in case the user doesn't have it.
