c++.net console app ?

when i learned c++, my class ( the school kind ) used visual c++ 6. we used the "console app" selection for our projects.

i've just installed c++.net and i don't see an option for a 'console app' .. is there something else they call it now?

A Console Application is Win32 based, This was so for VC++ 6
already but there you could still choose between "Win32 Console
Application" and "Win32 Application". In VC++ .NET you choose
"Win32 Project" then in the wizard select "Application Settings"
and select "Console Application" as "Application Type".

u need to install the wizard for that(doesn't come with default install). Search in help for consoleApp and it will show you what folder on which CD to look in.

Then just copy the files in your folder and u'll have the wizard listed in.

Apperntly he has a list with options so i assumed the Wizard
was installed (if it's even possible not to have it installed ).

By "wizard" I mean the actual wizard which takes you through the steps for creating an app. Like a win32 wizard or controlPanelApplet wizard or MFC DLL wizard. There is a consoleApp wizard but it's not installed by VS.Net's installer. You need to manually copy the files to your Program Files/Microsoft Visual Studio .NET/Vc7/VCWizards directory. The help system will tell you exactly which files/folders you need, and which CD has them (search help on "consoleApp")

I can't recognize that Wizard you're describing. I just pick a
Win32 Applications, Using an "Empty Workspace" and i'm done.
