Portable GUI toolkits

I've recently stopped playing around with Qt since the transition to version 4 left me in the dust as a newbie just trying to learn the toolkit. I would like to learn something that doesn't have a tempting GUI designer since that is what messed me up when the new version of Qt came out, and more importantly I would like something that will allow me to write closed source programs (possibly even for profit) on Windows and Linux preferably without using the GTK toolkit.

I am aware that wxWidgets is quite popular and, in Linux, can use motif or something of the sort instead of GTK, but I would also like to know if there are any other toolkits out there I should take into consideration, I'm especially interested in something that will be easy and quick to learn to use.

Thanks.

I haven't used it myself, but a few people I used to go to school with were very excited by the Fox Toolkit. It's not closed souce, but it's lgpl'd. http://www.fox-toolkit.org/

Thanks, I'll have a look at that one and try to compare how easy it is to wxWidgets.

I'm still open to alternatives though, I want to know what all my options are so I can pick the easiest and quickest to learn. I'm not really looking for a powerful toolkit, just one that can do what I want and will stay consistent (and reasonably backwards compatible) from version to version.
