Angry Anyone got some "re-education" advice?

Many of you have help me, especially Valmont and sde, but I'm stuck in old C/C++ programming conventions! I even deleted much of my test programs (yes irrationally- frustration I claim) before I thought to ask once again for help.
I'm not sure what exactly I'm asking for... but here goes.

I need like some kind of !up to date! current text book or tutorial that has a "please use what you have learned to do this (problem)" setup with the "solution" and expected output.

Any help for this old dog to learn new tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Again, Valmont to the rescue! I haven't looked fully at the file, but what I see so far I think will help immensely. Bad C, bad! :-]>
