Windows API Examples

I just started my Computer Sceince course, it is a little boring for me so I want to do a little programming with the Windows API.

I am looking for some examples and tutorials, as well as places that list each command and what it does. I have been at the MSDN Library, but it is a giant pain to navigate.

Does anyone know of any good resources? If not, I will just force myself to have the patience to use the MSDN Library.

Thanks.

there are many books on windows programming. go to a bookstore and thumb through a few of them, to see if they have the kind of examples you're looking for. i don't remember any off the top of my head.
