GUI Frontend Tutorial?

Hey folks,

I'm thinking of starting a simple project.. Something relatively small like making a GUI frontend for some little console utility or something. I think I'd probably use GTK for this project.

I've had a fair amount of programming experience with C, so I am capable of writing code, but I've never had much experience (aside from curses) with creating a GUI.

Does anyone know of any resources that I could read to get myself on track? I figure this might be a good way to get my feet wet with using a real GUI toolkit, but I'm not too sure where to begin. Isn't that always the hardest part?

In the meantime, I'll have a look at the code for some small utilities that are available to the OSS world in order to become somewhat familiar with it.

www.gtk.org is a pretty good place to start looking for information regarding the GTK libraries.
