Loop in scripts causing Crashs

Hey,

Been a long time since I've posted here but I really need your help.

I use a set of scripts called "Storyline" made by http://www.iodesigns.co.uk for one of my websites, but we recently got our hosting account terminated because of a bug in the scripts causing the system to crash.

The admin told me that the scripts were causing a loop while trying to access the database, causing the the MySql server to overload, ge sent me several logs/dumps of this activity.

The system is very database reliant and is fully dynamic, so it uses MySql a lot. In these dumps it seemed to display the entiror contents of a single table. Some of these logs were 6 megs in size.

IF someone could please help me, I have all the emails and I think I still have the logs, as well as all the scripts. I can't offer much in return, I can give you $10 through PayPal and other then that just banner impressions on our site(s). (Site was averaging over 10,000 pages views a day before we went offline).

If you can help please eamil me at justin@mixingsoup.com and I will send you everything I have got and once I have our new account online I will give you temp access to it as well..

Thanks...

hey justin, .. i've seen this happen with bad queries. when i was experimenting with joins and making very complex queries, i looped mysql and it make mysql use 90% of the cpu. with that said, i'm guessing it's in your queries.

why not just post the queries that might be the problem? let us have a look at them... unless it's too much to post. i'll give it a try, but i can't guarantee that i can find the answer.

Sweet as,

I will get my directory backups and paw through them tonite. Most of the activity takes place in one file in particular, the trans.php file which is used for logging in. The database connection class file is the most popular on the server, so I will give the main centents of them on here.

Thanks for your help...
