Help with PHP

Hey does anyone know a good web-site to teach me how to do live scoreing for fantasy football. So if Peyton Manning gets a touchdown if will automatically update

How "live" are you looking for? So that during or after the game, you can login and enter the updated stats, and see them reflected across your league? Or are you talking about automatically, play-by-play? If it's the former, just google for a PHP tutorial, choose one that makes sense to you and start messing around with stuff. If it's the latter, you're in over your head.

hey

i don't have anything so far, but I want it to update like during the game. Kinda like NFL.com how it updates live stats for the players. It takes a fe seconds to update, but it updates while they are still playing, is that possible for me to do

Where do you plan on getting the information from? I doubt you are going to get a live feed from the game, which means you have to try and grab it somewhere else. The actual handling of the information is easy, if you can figure out how to obtain it.

What BH said. Plus it'll be a lot more complex to do it that way, as you're going to have to handle incoming streams of information. I really think you're reach is exceeding your grasp on this one. Baby steps is the way to learn how to program, and you're attempting to do something that would be a workload for a veteran programmer.

First find a site that will give you score updates, and then try and get it to update manually. Once it works manually then you can try and get it to automatically update once a day. If that's working then it would not be difficult to update it more often.

I would think just updating hte stat when you visit the page would be enough. Just hit refresh if you want an update. The hardest part would be to find a site that will give you the stats. The rest is really not that difficult, so focus on how you are getting the stats first and not worry about what to do with them just yet.
