Screenshots created dynamically?

Not even sure if this is possible, but here goes:

I'm creating a links page on a PHP-driven site and using screen shots of each link. Is there anything in the GD library or PHP itself to process a page and then capture it graphically? Kind of a PHP function that does what the "Print Screen" button does on a PC keyboard.

I'm guessing it's not possible, but I'm curious if anyone else has ever heard of such a thing?

It'd be impossible for php to do because the php code only executes on the server. Taking a picture of the browser view would have to happen on the client.

There may be something in javascript to do that, and then you could send it back to the server with javascript, but you couldn't do it in php because the php code isn't code anymore by the time it gets to the browser.

That makes sense. I'm building a CMS, actually, and I'm looking for a VERY user-friendly way to present the pages on a site for a person to edit them -- The pages themselves will be html, but the CMS will be PHP (it will write out the html files when they are published). I don't suppose that will make a difference, but I get to thinking PHP can do ANYTHING sometimes . . .
