| Real Estate RMLS Database I need to find the information I need to connect to the Portland RMLS database for a Real Estate website I'm putting together. Does anyone know how to go about this? My client is registered with http://www.rmlsweb.com/ but I couldn't find any information about connecting to the RMLS database
*I'm really not sure why I posted this in PHP....*

| MLS usually supplies flat text files that you have to parse into your own database. Worked with several different companies, they generally supply FTP accounts to download content. |

| Well I just got off the phone with the tech support guy at RMLS. I guess in order to gain access to the database, I would have to get hired by an office, not an agent.
He also said they do offer comma delimited and space delimited flat text files, as well as direct SQL access. Ugh, I need access to that database if I want to do anything spectacular with this website |

| No, she's a member of a John L. Scott office. She wants her own website, but I can't gain access to the RML database unless the office hires me directly. I can't do it for an individual agent unless I have the approval of the office, and only if the office is the one that hires me.
The office doesn't have a website yet, so that may be another option. Build a site for the office and provide agents personal pages through the office. |

| that makes no sense unless agents don't pay for their own MLS subscription. if you want to talk about this in more detail, send me a pm. i think i've mentioned it before, but i'm working on this sort of thing too.

| pull the data and dump it into your own database, much easier to work with that way
just tell the MLS company you represent an entire office, they are generally clueless and will set you up with whatever you ask for.
i have setup several of these types of things, my full time company deals with 20,000+ realtors. |

| I don't want to break any company policies and/or get my customer in any kind of trouble. Posing as a contractor hired by the office and not the agent will do just that. I'd like to take care of this in an honest fashion. |

| talk to the office manager and tell them what you are working on, offer the product to the other agents when you are done. |

| it's a VERY large real estate firm up there, and they probably would not go for it. the mls up there is much more strict than the ones down here. i checked into it for him too. it really sucks.

| Here it is a year later and I am trying to do something similar.
Except, I am working for circle13 design l.l.c. and we are just getting started. One of the co-founders is a real estate agent for century21. I have contacted rmls but have not heard back from them. Hopefully this is a lot easier than it appears to be by reading this.
Any insight would help. |
