Can anyone recommend a very basic message board?

I mean REALLY basic. I have a client that needs it. I installed phpBB (which I love, awesome board) but he only needs one forum and he thinks it's too complicated for his dumbass site visitors to use. So I'm looking for a bottom of the barrel type of BBS, kind of like one of those cheesy, plain, threaded boards that were popular 10 years ago.

Here's a great example I found in Google:
http://www.aceshardware.com/forum/

As you can see, there is no graphic design with it and no features like private message, smilies, or text formatting. It's just plain.

I need to find something like this written in PHP. Any suggestions? I know there are a ton of boards out there but they're all too nice. I can't find one basic enough to fit this client's needs. Worst case scenario I figure I can just write the whole program in a day, but I'm trying to avoid that.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Quickforum looks pretty good; I also think <phorum> has alot of potential to fit that need.
