I am just learning php and mysql and apache and all this stuff, so please don't assume i have done this or checked that cause i probably haven't.
I bought one of those php and mysql in 24 hour type books and it explains how to install php, apache, mysql on the computer. the instructions leave out a part on how to access phpmyadmin and the included cd doesn't give me pear.
Well i can't get mysql, apache and php installed correctly and working so i downloaded a program called easyphp. I downloaded v1.5 and everything seemed to be dandy. Then i updated to 1.6 cause i felt like i should have the updated versions of php, mysql, and apache. Well when i did this i couldn't get access to mysql through the phpmyadmin. I would get a screen that says "forbidden you don't have permission to access /mysql/ on this server". Why not? i have even made a database yet, and haven't set any permissions or passwords or users or anything.
I really don't understand what is going wrong, so if anyone can help here it would be much appreciated before i start learning .asp and oracle.
