MySQL Limits?

i'm doing some research on how much and how efficient mysql can be .. the goal is to be able to handle a contact database of over 1million .. full name , address, email, notes, etc ..

anyone know the limits of mysql? at the same time i'll be research pgsql.

1 million shouldnt be a problem.

we had something like 800,000 entries into a table, just make sure your queries are written well.

I have a MySQL db running with over 20,000 tables, up to 1000 rows per table... it holds up fine.

I use MySQL for every site I develop for and since they are actually low traffic compared to most I really didn't give the size much thought, but wow. That gives me a lot more confidence in my choice of databases.
