Mono runtime

Hi, I just switched to Mono, and I need to embed the runtime into my code, since I don't want people to have to install the Mono runtime or MS .NET runtime separately. I'm on Windows XP, coding in C#. The instructions on their website don't work, since that uses gcc, which I don't have. So, is there another way to do it? Or, better yet, get it and my program all into one executable? Thanks in advance.

i'm confused.

you installed mono on a linux distro right?

why do people need the runtime for your web app that executes on the server?

for what it's worth, i was working with mono a bit, but it was primarily console applications. since i couldn't get the mono c# compiler to work right, i had to compile on windows and ftp the executable to the linux server.

Just like I said, I'm on Windows XP. Mono is on XP, and the app is on XP. It is not a web app, and doesn't go on a server. It is a console app.

ok, that makes sense now. installshield express will install the framework when you make an installer for your app with it .. however it costs $

Ok, but I'm still curious if it's possible for me to get the mono runtime into a dll.

Embed Runtime - Found Solution?

Hi

I am also struggling with this. I have seen a document on how to do this in C and Perl, but I only know C#. Have you found a solution yet? Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks
PJ
