Hey guys,

I just set up a dedicated Linux counterstrik server for some friends at school and I wanted to know if you guys would like to test it.

Just post a reply if you want to....

Here's my servers:

West Coast
216.240.150.182:27015

East Coast
198.64.189.61:27015

both dedicated co-located servers .. the east coast is on a verio network, .. west coast is a crappy network, but still good for west coast people.

SDE is really good, you wont want to play against him. he will headshot you while he is jumping and throwing a flash grenade.

haven't had much time lately to play .. i spend all my time coding and maintaining the game servers.

i think a lan party is in order.

travis: what type of ping do you get? that is pretty far. we have 2 guys in the air force that play from korea with a 200 ping.. but they are the furthest players.

Well, Back when i still played CS (about 1,5 years ago) i was
godlike at it, But these days CS is destroyed by all kinds of
pretection against all kinds of things, Like bunnyhopping, OK,
Bunnyhopping IS bad but holding your feet against the ground
with cement after 1 jump is a little overkill. I can't get a
connection to Ilya's server whatsoever.

exactly is it located? I usually get a ping around 10-40.

hehe.. i thought so . located in the U.S. one is an east coast and one is a west coast server.

I stopped playing counterstrike after the number of hacks outnumbered the number of players. A few times the game hadn't even loaded yet and I would already be dead from a head shot.

cheating is fusterating .. especially as an administrator trying to maintain a good place to play.

valve has gotten much better at keeping up to date on a lot of the cheats .. but there are still more out there.

United Admins recently took over developments of a couple anti-cheat programs such as HLGuard ( server-side ) and Cheating Death ( server-client )

over the last few years, i've gotten pretty good at identifying players who cheat.

i feel my admins and i keep a pretty clean servers, and we have a where players can report problems, wonids, and such. www.ocsclan.com

half-life is a great game engine .. especially for how old it is. i haven't played a faster multiplayer fps yet. ( and i've played a lot of 'em )
