kazaa is nice for finding mp3

but quite tough for finding software

never used wine ........ i either use windows or linux .... i dont like emulators

i dont care that much about virusses .. i am a bit careful .. and whenever i might obtain a virus from somewhere (most of the times because someone else opened an attachment from an email with a .scr file attached )
(very hard to make them understand that curiousity isnt that healthy on the internet )
ah well .. whenever i do get a virus .. its just time to do a format and reinstall everything
(thats a very good idea to do with windows about once a year )
(and i never had a virus on my linux (yet))

Linux doesn't really have viruses or worms because of permissions and that *N?X users are smart . Also that most viruses spread by exploits or mass mailing, most exploits are patched quickly, and truly, if someone is stupid enough to get a mass mailing virus they shouldn't be able to use a computer

ilya: doesn't matter that exploit will probably be patched in 2 seconds flat, plus I HIGHLY doubt it....

Talking bout this?
http://securityresponse.symantec.com...ux.jbellz.html
It only works on CERTAIN versions of mpg123, so very little chance it will actually work....

dont use kazaa, but use kazaa lite
(it doesnt have the spyware that comes with kazaa)

linux doesnt have much virusses because virusses are made for only one purpose, and thats to infect as many computers as possible.
because most computers still run on windows, its a logical choice for the 'author' of the virus to chose for the windows os for a target.

another reason is that linux is open source, and someone who has the knowledge to write a virus .. can also use that knowledge for improving the os.
when someone finds a bug in windows .. he/she cant fix it . and when he/she gets really pissed .. a virus is born again.
(while under linux .. the one who is pissed will think : i can do that better!)
