I just had a strange experience I'd like to share with you. I was watching a video stream from a lecture at UC Berkeley, called
User Interface (Alan Kay) 1. The RealMedia video stream was taped in 2006, and the video shown in the stream was an Alan Kay lecture speech in 1987, talking about and showing clips from the 1960s and 1970s. Most of the student audience in the UC Berkeley stream wasn't even born when the Alan Kay held his speech. Alan Kay commented that most of his student audience wasn't born when the tapes he showed from the 1960s were recorded.
Anyway, a very enjoyable and educational video of original thinking in user interface design, which also has a
part 2, which I'm certainly going to watch.
