.fig files?

so i recently downloaded a super nintendo emulator. it allows you to play games from the system on your computer granted you can find them online. and a game called tetris attack. and since i own both in real life as far as i care its legal.(why play on my pc if i own the real thing? my ac adapter on my snes broke. from years of wrapping it up for storage the wire broke inside of the insulation. finding a replacement is a little hard. just incase you were wondering.) anyway the game came in a .fig file. and i can't find anything online about that type of file. im trying to extract the music out of the game because its some of the best music ever.(if you ever played nes or snes you know you loved the music too.) anyone know how to do it?

i got the game from

googling for "fig emulator snes" leads me to believe it's a specific type of rom file.
This abandonware site seems to confirm that: http://www.the-underdogs.info/extension.php

Considering that most of those types of files are just straight memory dumps of whatever was on the cartridge, I doubt there's any useful way to extract the music without reverse engineering the specific rom file. Each of those old games had their own assembly language methods for controlling the sound hardware. It's not like today's game consoles where there are standard libraries for that sort of thing.

well the game itself is only 1025kb and the emulator is even smaller. reverse engineering it can't be that hard can it?

Sorry, man. Hopefully it has a help option because I don't have access to a windows or dos machine to help you. I only have linux machines at home and work.
