I don't know how many of you are into gaming, but I've just become aware of an in-development RPG called Asheron's Call 2. You can download the beta at fileplanet.com (if you're a fileplanet member, that is) and there are about 1200 spots open for beta testing. So far gameplay is pretty slick, eye-popping graphics and I've yet to encounter any bugs, save the fact that the servers have been down all night. If you don't see me for a couple days at a time, send someone over to the house to pry the keyboard from out my hands...

i have a gamespy id, but not a subscriber account. is it big enough to email me? they don't have any public servers.

Sorry, the beta is only for fileplanet members, even if I did send you the file (which is 526mb) you wouldn't be able to login with my pass / uid. They're monitoring the beta and that would get both of us kicked out.

As of right now (13:28PST or 1:28PM pacific), there are already 9835 downloads, leaving only 165 beta tester spaces left. Hurry!

how is this?

i heard the games graphics were subpar, the gameplay was weak and there are very limited options for setting up your characters. the person who told this to me, is a good friend/co-worker.

Well, all I can say is, 1) the game's a beta, and 2) that's life.

After playing a few hours, here is what I think so far.

1. Graphics are really nice
2. Sounds are really nice
3. The worlds are pretty interesting so far
4. Fixed Camera angle sux.
5. In-Game Chat could be better
6. Lag is horrible, but that has to do with their servers .. not reall ythe game.

Overall, I like it. I hope they fix the lag soon though.

camera angles are great. just press the middle mouse button and you can walk around like a fps game. a and d become left and right strage while your mouse points you in the direction.
