Increase in Spam?

Seems like there's been a lot of spam here latey (well not really a lot, just seems to be on the rise).
Maybe we should make a sticky topic about not buying any flash decompilers spamvertised here.

Also, is there any access to forum codebase? Maybe we could put a sig-link filter so redhead doesn't have to edit them all by hand. Maybe I'm just giving them too much attention. Stupid insomnia.

It's not that much of a trouble, I usualy check every user annonced under the Welcome to our newest member info, aswell as check their posting stats if they have any.
Usualy the spammers will let their first post reveal who they are..
For deflash/flashcom there was just something familiar with the post, and i thought I had seen the site linked to befor, so I checked the user info and user IP from those users, what do you know they matched...

The only problem arise, when theres more than one new user the same day, you can't be sure to catch the ones who has illformed intensions, but then again I usualy check for any new postings since my last visit...

As for creating some sort of filter, I'm not sure if that is possible, we've made it so that you have to have 50 post or more in order to be listed on the members list, but I think the restrictions stops at not beeing able to add an avatar if you have less than X posts, the signature isn't prohibited in any way.

Well I was just thinking since we were a code forum we could automate some of that. Might be a fun "class" project.

That could be fun, but we still have the snippets section to finish, aswell as brush up on some of the alterations we're concerned about, like making the front page more appealing, I'd rather see that attendede to, befor we start throwing alot of effort into something which isn't that big a deal at the moment.

i've had a lot of changes this year ( moving, and job ) and haven't really given the site much love. thanks for the help offer. the thought of other people working on the code side of this project is something i have mixed feelings about, but it may be a good idea. i will put some more thought into this.
