You can have your domain registrar lock your domains from transfer, and some even have the option in the admin tools.

i didn't understand the purpose of that. no one can really request my domain be transferred anyway unless they have access to my email. right?

Luckily I don't have to worry about that...I locked my domain the day I got it...on accident

hehe, I kinda stumbled uppon the same thing, one was herrasing me, claiming my domain, which I've had for over a year belonged to him... (it was ugly) Anyway I didn't wanted him showing up on my home address, so I contacted dk-hostmaster requesting them to remove any billing/register info when searching for my domain, unaware this even prevents me from changing anything without a written accept, signed by me, that things should be changed..

*sigh, I payed for private registration from godaddy through some other private registration company. Basically it sets that other companys info in place of mine in the whois database or whatever...

I'm sure there was a better way of keeping my private information off the whois information, but I didn't/don't know what that way would be so I payed for it
