GCC is pretty standard, as it's free. But it's usually used in a Unix environment, although it can be used in Windows.

money is no object to me. i work with windows, so id rather use one more common for windows, id be willing to pay, so whats a good one for windows?

I don't work with C/C++, so you'd probably want to get a second opinion, but I'd suggest either Microsoft's compiler or IBM's.

I'm partial to Xcode, Kdevelop, and GCC. I just can't get around Visual Studio. Too proprietary for me I guess.
