which antivirus package ?

always used norton on the pcs i connected to the internet

never connected my own computer to the internet .. so i never investigated the various packages much

i will connect my own computer (plus an old one from me) to the internet soon (via a wireless router to dsl)

now i wonder which package i should buy/get .. the main brands are norton and mcafee .. what about them ? what about the others ?

i will be running win98se on both machines, winxp on the newer one, linux as well on the newer one in the near future

norton pro comes with licenses for 2 computers .. what about the cheaper norton .. can i only use it on 1 pc ? will i also be able to protect my old pc ?

any suggestions as to which antivirus package i should obtain ?

I've got Norton Pro and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever, works nicely. Yes, Pro comes with a two-machine license, yes the 'standard' version only comes with a 1 machine license.

I like PC-cillin from TrendMicro. It comes with an integrated firewall. I have it installed on two machines running XP Pro. I also have AVG on an old laptop running Win98. No complaints from either.

No problem. I've been using it for a year or two and while I've never had a virus, its nice to know its there. (I don't use IE, OE or open stupid emails, so that helps.)
