Request

Sde, I don't know when your new forum is operational.
Can you implement a "quick hack" to color the hyperlinks for the tutorial section. I need to post pics for my next (and some previous) tutorials but currently the links aren't "eye-friendly". Bit demotivating.

I can't wait to tell about my new concept:
Design Patterns for novices: the informal way.
Long long tutorials but the first one is superfun: a extensible console based card game.
I have more plans then time, but this series must be done. Time to prove that even complex things can be explained the "Donald Duck way".

I wish I could be like that. I lose motivation when I remember how many tutorials there are already out there

damn, i've been lagging on this issue. honestly i got a little de-motivated when i realized that not everyone would like the new look.

i really do need to put my ideas for the new tutorial/article interface into action though.

here is what i have so far for the interface. you can see how you will now be able to add multiple pages, set their order, add references, and your own images.

the individual page interface design is next. of course i'll be making this look a little better once implemented on the site.

This seems cool!

Say, if you are demotivated with the new overall look, why don't you develop a no-nonsense business like look, then iteratively modify the look after checking with members or friends/collegeagues?

Grey/silver seems modern these days. Important to me is that adds don't distract students.
Orange, purple, green, yellow, these are typical colors that cause controverse it seems.

As soon as you become full of fantasy, you'll find half of the visitors extremely positive, the other extremely negative. No one would be neutral. That's why I would choose for a more business like setup. To avoid controversy. Remember that the speed of this forum (and the informal talk) is your best product.

How about a new try huh?

Below is a sample of this Grey/Silver look I had in mind. Just to get you started. I've "borrowed" it from a gaming clan I communicate with as well. Their leader is a backstabber so who cares .

well yeah, but i've put too much time into the new design to ditch it. it integrates nicely with vbulletin 3. most likely we will be seing the change.

the only things i have left to do is create the new article editor, and finish up the banner ad back-end for advertisers.

maybe i will work on themes after i launch it so people can look at less vibrant colors if they wish.
