I like free software. Not neccessarily open source, just free So I thought I'd start listing some of the various cool free programs that I've found and used.

Graphics Programs

Good image viewing program. Very little editing capabilities, but has very good resizing/resampling functions.

Ultimate Paint, easy to use and powerful. Shareware, basic functions are unrestricted but more advanced ones restrict saving.

Image Forge. Some people like it, some don't.

3D Modeling Programs

Wings3D. I love this program. Very good modelling tool.

Blender3D. One of the most popular freeware 3D animation tools.

Calligari give away an older version of their TrueSpace software. It's pretty good.

DVD Shrink. Allows for copying of DVD's to the smaller DVD+/-R format by reducing their size to fit. Most people have sad it's as good as DVDXCopy. But it's freeware, and also lacks the "dial-home" spyware that comes with DVDXCopy.

AutoGK(Gordian Knot) is the simplest way to rip video from a DVD I've found.

Gordian Knot is really a front-end to a set of tools that simplifies the process of video ripping while not reducing your options. If you want to do cusomized ripping, or rip to OGM or MKV formats, this is the tool for you.

Easy Cleaner searches for and removes registry entries that point nowhere. This can speed up your comp (but it's wise to make a backup before just deleting registry keys)
