code newbie site .. wuddayathink?

what do you think of the overall flow of the site?

i'm talking about graphics ( loading time and looks ) , design, navigation, etc...

i'm working on a re-design and a few new features based on feedback and experience running the current design.

what do you want to see in the next version of codenewbie? .. or, what don't you want to see?

An "img" code block for the tutorial section. But that wasn't easy to implement I believe you already explained that (can't remember).
Speeds are great.
How about support for (*.gif) transparency on the avatar location?
I also mentioned in a thread earlier: would you like to reduce the size of the tabs. One or two spaces less would be great.

Otherwise I'm feeling quite at home here. Thank you.

thanks val. i've been thinking about the tutorials section heavily.

i think i'll be moving it out of the forums to a custom made interface.

the idea is to have an "upload manager" so to speak. this will be a little form to the right of the tutorial creator page.

it will be a text area with a 'browse' button below. you can upload your images and they will show up in the text area.

at that point, you will define where you want the image to fall inline of your tutorial with some type of image tag. maybe [image]image1.gif[/image]

i like the tab idea too. that should be easily implemented with a simple replace function.

i don't know how you can force gifs to NOT support transparency .. so i'm not sure what you're talking about there. maybe i'll try messing with my avatar to see what you're talking about.

thanks for the info =)

also, .. tutorials will be aka articles to allow for a greater variety of content.

articles will then have a rating system (1-5) and comments available to registered users.

Hey, I missed this one. A good one sir! I left my email addy on the tutorials for feedback but only one did send feedback. It would definatly more convenient to send an instant rating or so.
