| Internet speeds, a lil survey. Here in the Netherlands a 1024/256 ADSL costs about $52 to $80. Without fancy deals that is.
How is this in your country? I have no clue, but I'd like to know.

| Cable here is about $50. It's (and this is from rough estimation of my experience) about 300K (that's kilobytes, not bits) download and about 20K upload.
Sat, well I've seen prolonged spikes of 4 Megabits. But it's unreliable, and at times dialup is faster. And they have a stupid "Fair Access Policy" that really limits downloads. That costs about $80, plus the equipment.
Here being upstate NY. |

| I've had DSL here in Southern California for several years, 768/128 (kbps) and I pay roughly $40. monthly. There have been ups and downs with the service, and I've thought about going cable...have to look into it...especially where I'm at they say I'm pretty much capped at 768 download speed. |

| cable in the netherlands can be compared with asdl (in price, although cable is a tidbit cheaper) ...
the speed of asdl here is garanteed while with the cable overhere your speed depends a bit on how many of your neighbours are on cable internet as well ... in cities (and areas where lots of people are on internet via cable) asdl might be faster .. in the countryside cable is faster

| Well, ordered SDSL 3Mb/3Mb today. Operational in December. So it's going to be a cool christmas for me. And an expensive one.
Hmm, we haven't got a "cry" symbol here .

| Update Well after having sub-par speeds the last two days, it's finally jumped up to what I would expect, around 1.2mbps. Not bad. |
