Revolution is starting Counter-Strike, advice for the n00b

Revolution is beginning his foray into counter-strike, we were all new to it at some point, what advice do the grizzled veterans offer.

I say this:

Always go desert eagle first round as a terrorist but not necessarily as a counter-terrorists.

Ducking will increase your accuracy while shooting but doing it too much will get you killed because you can't move.

Always, always (always) buy a defuse kit where applicable.

When you die, use the chasecam to follow the leaders in the match to learn how they play.

why even play anymore? i use to play all the time but everyone started cheating, so that was the end of that

find the right servers .. where you get to know regular friendly players, .. and where admins are usually present ( like mine ) .. and you will remember why you like cs in the first place. it's about the people you play with as much as it is the game.

also .. don't go off blaming people for cheating if you seem to get owned a little more than you are used too .. especially if you play on our server. there are some really good players out there.

the glock rocks you dont need the deagle, it glock is accurte and fast. and pratice pratice pratice pratice pratice

I don't think its that accurate, and the speed of the pistols is related entirely on how fast you can click. Deagle has three shot kills at worst, the glock has a twenty shot clip for a reason because you're going to need at least six to kill (assuming of course no hs). Crouching with a deagle is like a mini sniper rifle because of the caliber and accuracy. Perhaps we can discuss this in game sometime

i call it Glock Squad, the thing about the glock is that you can just point and fire over and over, while they have there 7 deagle shots, they run out, your still fireing.

but the usp is probly the most well rounded pistols there is, and the p228 just sucks

and the dules are the most fun

omg .. the glock is so weak!! you will die after your 8th shot that doesn't even kill the guy. lol

Oh it's on now. The p228 is a personal favorite (I'm a fan of the quirky somewhat poorly performing underdog). We all need to find someway to get together and have pistol practice or just general playing. Problem of course being I'm in ohio and I can't get onto sde's servers. I don't know if we can find servers in the middle that will provide adequate pings for all. Oh well I'll just mock you from here.

we have members in virginia and pennsylvania who ping fine .. we had trouble today and the data center said that the network was down .. it is possible you tried to connect durring the down time.

things should be just great now =)

I dont play Cs anymore, Battlefield beats it hands down in my eyes. Cept now Everyone at the lan plays DC so if i want to play with lotsa ppl i have i play a game that i dont really like.
