Cool Article - Computing's Lost Allure

I HOPE I can get classmates that enjoy programming and computers in general as I do in college this fall, not just those who think will be making big bucks once they get a degree in computer science.

I heard about this article a while ago too and thought it was a good thing personally. I would much rather have people who care about what their doing then someone in it for just a paycheck. I wouldn't be surprised if a whole lot of the problems we have in computing today (incompatibilities, shoddy code, etc.) stem in large part from people who were programming for the money and not because they liked it (even just a little wee smidgen).

They also mentioned how lots more students are going further with their education (something I plan on) and I'm happy to hear that also. I feel this can only benefit computer science in the long run even if it is a little rough at the moment.

Here's to the future, whatever it may bring!
