I have a viewsonic 19" LCD flatscreen. Its sooo nice, its the only monitor that I can have on my desk so that I can look straight into it.

cheers,

Ilya

it really depends if you are doing any sort of web or graphic design. if you are then seriously consider CRT because LCD will just piss you off when you realize that the color isn't true no matter how much you tweek that vid card. the LCD can be different colors depending on slight differences in angles you look at it too.

I run a 21" trinitron with dual inputs ( one for my mac, and other for my primary pc ) .. then i run a 17" crt for the experimental box.

still though, i run 1 monitor for each system .. i just realized i accidently voted for a dual crt, .. but that is only because i have multiple systems. oops.

i'm relaly happy with the trinitron. Having an input switcher built in to the front of the monitor makes it very convenient. the picture is very clear, and the controls are excellent and easy to adjust.

the trinitrons have 2 very fine horizontal lines which splits the monitor into 3 horizontal sections. you can only see it if you look real close, but they are there. at first i thought it was broke, but then i looked at others that were the same. it's a great monitor.

I just got the Viewsonic VG800 18" LCD myself, got it currently rigged via TwinView with my old HP 17" CRT, which I am considering trading up to a new Viewsonic or Sony 19" CRT.

The LCD is very sharp and nice, especially with linux, I often find it funny that certain hardware works better under an 'underdog' OS like linux, but I suppose it's the way the kernel pushes the hardware.

I really am diggin the TwinView feature on my nVidia ti4200, lets me easily view the script or webpage Im working on along with the code. But, I still like playing the occasional game, and to get sharper game graphics at lower res, I've gotta stick with the CRT. =(

Just for fun, here's a screenie of the 17" / 18" dual-head.
You'll note a slight oddity as I have the 17" running 1024x768 and the 18" LCD running 1280x1024 (native res).

WARNING: Large graphics file, 2304x1024, 738K

Mine's a merely average 15" Hp CRT. It does it's job by not pissing me off. But it doesn't bother me because it's hooked up to a radeon 9700 pro

As soon as I finish finals, I'll be buying myself a 19" CRT, but for now I've got dual 17" CRTs.
