WTF...

Theres no way I will compare the virtual machine with an oven.

Almost as bad, as comparing the valcuoles in a plant cell with a post office.

I dont expect anyone to follow this thought, I kow I didn't when I was introduced to it

I think it's just fine, Since that's exactly how it works.
They could have made a better approach though.

If you want an interesting way of presenting Java to some one look no further than "My Bunnies Big Cup O' Java" (search on Amazon if you want excerpts). Not an actual tutorial but an interesting approach to teaching a non-techie about Java, if they REALLY want to know about it with out learning it. Its actually pretty humorous.
