ftp is getting on my nerves!

i'm trying to ftp into my computer.. i can log in fine, .. but when i try to transfer something.. it says "permission denied. .. i even logged in as su and changed the permissions of that directory to allow access, but it still doesn't let me upload anything. any ideas?

i beleive you have to take out su of your /etc/ftpusers and check the /etc/ftpaccess file to make sure that users are allowed to create
