recompiling rh7.2

has anyone recompiled rh7.2 successfully?

just wondering if there's any oddities that were experienced. i'm in a linux class this week and on compiling we got errors. we pretty much used all defaults.

any tips would be appreciated.

Hmmm... I would like to hear some more about these errors, especialy what was tried to compile, and what the resulting errors were..

Since I've anualy upgraded/compiled every package of RedHat since 6.1 to 7.3 on one of my boxes, I would guess some of the errors would sound familiar to me..

I remember some of the provided .src.rpm files shiped with the 7.x tree of RH, needed to be altered a bit befor they compiled without a hitch.

From the last comment here, I'm guessing it's a kernel compile that is failing.

we were compiling 7.2 .. weren't really upgrading.. just going through the commands to recompile the existing setup to the way it was already.

i don't recall the errors, .. but it happened on 3 different machines. we didn't change any configs, so that must be what it was.
