Angry X refuses to work

Ok, I've spent the last day trying to fix this problem. Whenever i type "startx" in linux, the screen goes black and resets itsself every 10 seconds. I fixed this so now it only happens once. Once the flashing is done, i get the following message:
"could not init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list"
"Fatal server error: could not open default font "fixed"!
I've run Xconfigurator and xf86config to reconfigure X and it still gives me this problem. FYI, I'm running Redhat 7.3 with KDE 3.0. Any help would be greatly apreciated.
