FTP server with webbased administion

Does anyone know of a good FTP server that has a fairly flexible web based administraion? Adding, Edit & Removing users would be enough functionality for the admin side of things....

SFTP all the way. All administration is done through the UNIX user. No reason to have clear-text passwords.

sftp is not a good idea if you don't want your ftp users to have actual logins to the server. A comprimised virtual ftp account is nowhere near as bad as a comprimised shell acount.

so long as the users don't have a shell by default, it shouldn't be a problem right? if they find a way to hack in and give themselves a shell, .. well then they wouldn't need to give themselves a shell.

That's true for proftp and such but to enable sftp which is part of the secure shell tools, the user has to have a valid login shell or the sftp authentication fails.

That's why you make a jail.....

Something about using anything with plaintext passwords isn't right.
