Help with a little CompSci homework?
Hello everyone:
I'm a current first-year Computer Science major at the University of Southern California. This semester is the first one in which we are using the Java language, and I find myself getting stumped quite a lot. Just wondering if anyone has any particular resources that they have had good experiences with, especially with regards to processing and parsing strings.
Thanks in advance.
-Dante

java has quite a straighforward api, and pretty much anything you want to find is well named and found at the url below. for strings, look at the String, StringTokenizer, and StreamTokenizer classes

My best words of advice for you comming from a 1st year comp sci student at Laurentian University?? Make friends with upper year comp sci students. It has helped me immensly. But remember, don't get them to do all of your work because you will be screwed come exam time!
Happy 1st Year!

my advice as a 1st year CS major at Michigan Tech...... read the book, its usually better than the teacher. Also, just stick with it... it will click eventually... it did for me.
