Reporting in Java

Hi,

I want to know how to generate reports in Java(Core/Advanced) for simple and web applications without using any third party tool?
Just programmitically.

In case of VB, we can use Crystal reports etc..
In Java what is to be used....

Thank in advance.

Tip: Modesty is all virtue.

Wait, I'm confused. Isn't Crystal Reports a third party tool?

Generating reports (depending on how pretty) programmatically could describe anything from effective use of printf to outputing postscript directly.

Took a quick look over at Crystal Reports' website, and they support JDBC, and actually have a version that says it integrates into JSPs, so it looks like there's already support for what your looking for from Crystal Reports.

From my viewpoint, it is 3rd party tool from Java side.It may possible that I am wrong.

Well, thank you to both of you.
