Exclamation JAVA Hobbyists Wanted

The Embur Maal project is looking for a few good men (or women). We are searching for hobbyists familiar with the JAVA programming language. At this point our team consists of:

Myrmior- Project Director, Lead Graphic Designer
MilkshakeIII- Programming Director (versed in JAVA and Python)
Renzokuken- Graphic Designer
Valar- Junior Graphic Designer
Deyyaz- Writer

Information can be found by one of the following methods:

Visiting our website:
http://www.emburmaal.tk

Our simple design document:
http://myrmior.homestead.com/files/E...n_Document.zip

By contacting Myrmior at:
Public email address Embur_Maal@yahoo.com
AOL screen name MYRMI0R
ICQ # 96104332
MSN Messenger address Myrmior@hotmail.com

Our project is well developed, and has been around for some time. The next step is to begin coding. An interesting (although dated) document on game programming with JAVA can be found here:

http://www.rolemaker.dk/articles/evaljava/

Embur Maal is a mix between a platform game and an RPG. The closest comparison would have to be the AD&D arcade hits, Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara. Information on these games can be found here:

http://www.fantasyanime.com/valhalla/ddarcade.htm

Here is a mockup screen shot of Embur Maal:

http://myrmior.homestead.com/files/SmallMockup.jpg

The graphics are completely 2D with painted backgrounds and cell shaded sprites.

Embur Maal is to be a multi-player game with probably less than 100 players on each server at one time. The GUI is to be client based. We will need a real time combat system, eight directional movement, an experience based leveling system, a usage based skill system, and weapon and armor graphics will need to change with what is equipped. Objects will be of varying sizes. Enemy AI and such is touched on within the design document.

If you can help will some or all of these aspects, please contact us ASAP! MilkshakeIII is a competent JAVA programmer, but he has requested help in some areas. We are hoping to have a barebones version of Embur Maal released for testing in the future. More in depth features can be added once the first release is tested, so don’t squirm at all of the features mentioned in the design document or on the site.
