does PHP talk to JAVA??

I designed a java function that intakes a parameter and return a single integer. It has been compiled as a class file. I'm finding method that PHP can make use of the function by accessing the class file. Would this be possible??

Thanks for help!!
Keith

There is a java extension. See the php.net doc at: PHP Java Extension

Be sure to read the comments after the actual doc for another alternative.

thanks technobard and sde. the links are useful. Unfortunately, I found out it doesn't fully work my problem out because I'm using ISP's server they don't do the installations for me!

The reason why I want to use class file is that it is binary. So I can use it to do the seurity things such as license verifying -- use PHP seems easy-to-break since codes can be seen by the software buyer.

um, what do you think? I'm sure you guys are more experienced than me!!

ask your host if they support the zend-safeguard product. if they don't .. look around for a new host =)
