MDI Application Size on Start Up

OK, .. I have begun to work with Java.

I'm using the NetBeatns 3.6 IDE

When I run the app, all I see is the Menu. I need to resize the app with my mouse to see anything inside the MDI form.

I've set the properties of my 'Desktop Pane' to a minimum of 640x480 and also the 'preferred' setting is 640x480

So how do I set the size of the application when it launches?

There's a setSize() method associated with JFrame, have you tried messing with it?

thanks! i was setting the desktop element and not the jframe =)
