I am a newb, how do you set multiple parts of an image as a link?

I can't seem to get parts of an image to set as a link. I don't want the whole image to be one link but sections of an image I uploaded to be links to different pages. How would I go about doing that? Is there a program I could download or can it be done through the coding?

if i understand you right, you would need to break the image into multiple parts and then link each image. Some one correct me if im missing something

i think he's talking about an image map. you have to set coordinants ( sp? ) for links within the image.

you need a graphic editor like photoshop or fireworks, where you can look at which pixel you are on.. kinda complicated to explain in a post, but the link above explains it well.

you do not have to break up images, you can use image maps.

here's the first google link that looks like it explains it

(mods: consider making links on this forum a different color, or underlined. otherwise, they're really hard to see).
