how do i code an actual forum? or can i find a basic open source one?

I am trying to build a course management system but have really no idea how to do it. at the moment i want to try to code a basic forum

i'd recommend using one that already exists, like phpbb, or vbulletin... unless the objective is to learn how to code one.

then you would probably be best off learning php/mysql/html. without knowing your skill set, my recommendation can't be too specific.

For a nice clean simple one, I would start out with PunBB

Sorry Mike to be fair, on the down side, I would have liked CN to be based on PunBB, on the up side tho, I love the effort you've put into our "my article" bit.
