Hi all.

I am doing well on learning webdesign. Now I would like to learn a special feature.

I am using Dreamweaver 8.
Does a template exist so I can dynamically add pictures to the "image" folder in a webspace and where my page finds these new pictures and displays it as a thumb on page?
No PHP, .NET or ASP please.

So basically I would like to implement a TGP submitter that auto-creates extra pages with thumbs on it - keeping my design in mind.
But... if I upload pictures with FTP (instead of submitting) then I want my site to have the same behaviour: creating extra pages when new pics are uploaded.

Furthermore, the site can not be a dedicated TGP site! So I need flexibility in page and site design.

What is TGP?

I don't think what you ask for can be done. The best javascript can do is submit data to forms that have to be processed by CGI scripts (be that C, perl, or what have you) . Generating data on the server is outside of it's scope.
Also monitoring your ftp directory on the server is another job for something like perl and cron on the server.

Dreamweaver itself basically compiles templates for you before they are sent to the server. It doesn't have any separate monitoring component.

Your best bet is to use some sort of scripting language to do what you're talking about. The form can be written in in HTML, just direct the action to the script. I have a gallery setup here: http://myspace.avclan.net/gallery

Images are submitted via form, then a php script resizes them if necessary, followed by the generation of a 100x100 center-cropped thumbnail image. If you like, I'll send you the script.
