AJAX Tutorial?

Is anyone here proficient enough with AJAX to write up a tutorial for it? I'm attempting to get my feet wet; a tutorial about AJAX & PHP would be wonderful.

Actually a turtorial built around XMLHttpRequest may be a cool addition to Code Newbie.

Maybe a section on packaging things up as xml and decoding the xml in the client and server side code.
